Academic Planning

The Directorate of Academic Planning of Caleb University, Imota, Lagos, provides strategic leadership in the planning, development, and sustainable growth of the University’s academic programmes. The Directorate plays a central role in ensuring that all academic offerings remain relevant, efficient, and of high quality, in line with the University’s vision and mission.

In fulfilling this mandate, the Directorate oversees critical functions including curriculum development and periodic review, academic data management, resource planning and allocation, institutional liaison, accreditation processes, and compliance with regulatory requirements. These responsibilities are executed with a strong commitment to evidence-based planning, continuous improvement, and adherence to best practices in higher education management.

The Directorate also serves as the institutional anchor for engagements with regulatory and professional bodies, ensuring that the University consistently meets and exceeds statutory national standards. Through effective coordination and monitoring, it supports Faculties, Colleges, and Departments in achieving academic excellence and operational efficiency.

Academic Planning Director

Professor Charles Chijioke Nwachukwu

Professor Charles Chijioke Nwachukwu is a professor of Film and Media Studies in the College of Communication Studies (COCOMS), Caleb University, Imota, Lagos, Nigeria. He holds a Ph.D. in Media Studies, obtained from the University of Ibadan.

Professor Nwachukwu worked at management levels in Advertising, Television Broadcasting and Media Consultancy before joining Caleb University in 2012. He belongs to a number of local and international professional associations.

His works are published in reputable Nigerian and foreign international journals. Professor Nwachukwu is also the University Orator in addition to being the Director of Academic Planning. He is happily married and blessed with children
