Dr. Ojo Rasheed

HOD

Dr. Ojo Rasheed was born in Ibadan Oyo State Nigeria. He received his PhD in communication engineering from Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) in 2019, individually; he obtained his MSc from the same university back in 2014.

He received BSc in Information Technology from Al-Medina International University Shah Alam KL Malaysia in 2013. Currently, he works as a lecturer in the College of Pure and Applied Sciences, Department of Computer Science, Caleb University, Imota, Lagos, Nigeria.

He is also an HOD in Information Systems. His research interest includes Communication Engineering, IoT Communication Protocols, and Wireless & Cellular Real-Time Performance, 5G/6G & mmWave, THz, massive MIMO, Automotive Electronics

Network Architecture, Embedded Linux & Operating Systems, Applications & Systems. Robotics system, Integration of Optical & Wireless, Hardware/Software Co-design, Wireless Communication, Machine Vision Application in Automotive, MIMO and Metamaterials, RF Lab.

  • The Head of Department in Information Systems is involved in a broad scope of activities, balancing strategic planning with operational oversight. 
    Strategic Planning: Develop an IT strategy and roadmap that aligns with the organization's overall objectives.
  • Operations Management: Oversee daily IT operations, including networks, servers, databases, software, and hardware maintenance, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
  • Team Leadership: lead, mentor, manage a team of IT professionals, including project managers, systems analysts, developers, and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Security and Compliance: Establish and enforce IT policies and security protocols to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR).
  • Budget and Vendor Management: Plan and manage the IT budget, oversee procurement, and negotiate contracts with external vendors and service providers.
  • Innovation and Project Management: Identify and evaluate new technologies to improve business processes and operational efficiency, and manage the implementation of large-scale IT projects (e.g., ERP system implementation, cloud migration).
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with other department heads and senior executives to understand technology needs and ensure IT solutions meet the diverse requirements of the business.
