Dr Okiemute Akpomudje
HODOkiemute Akpomudje is a distinguished academic and seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in corporate and commercial law. With a strong commitment to the rule of law and legal scholarship, he seamlessly bridges practical legal expertise with scholarly research and teaching.
In academia, Okiemute has served as associate lecturer, at Lancaster University in the United Kingdom between 2014 and 2017, where he taught Commercial Law, Law of Contract, Law of Tort and Corporate Governance. He has co-supervised several research projects and is well published in leading legal journals. He currently lectures at Caleb University teaching Law of Tort, Company Law and Commercial Law where he serves as the Head of Department for Private and Commercial Law at College of Law. His research interests include corporate support for small and medium enterprise, corporate restructuring, capital market regulation and corporate governance.
As a legal practitioner, Okiemute has advised corporations/government agencies/NGOs/clients on complex legal matters, represented clients in litigation/arbitration/mediation, and contributed to the development of innovative legal strategies that align with evolving regulatory frameworks. He is recognized for his negotiation skills, litigation successes, and policy advocacy.
