  • Perform diagnostic tests. Conduct laboratory investigations across haematology, microbiology, chemistry, and immunology.
  • Analyse specimens. Collect, process, and analyse clinical specimens accurately and safely.
  • Interpret laboratory results. Relate test results to disease processes and support clinical diagnosis.
  • Assure quality and safety. Apply quality control, biosafety, and laboratory accreditation standards.
  • Operate laboratory technology. Use and maintain modern diagnostic instruments and information systems.
  • Practise professionally. Apply the ethics and regulations governing medical laboratory practice.

Clinical & laboratory placements

Supervised laboratory placements and competency assessments confirm diagnostic readiness.

External examiners

In line with NUC requirements, qualified academics from other universities moderate examinations and assess final-year projects.
